Customer Support Engineer (Field Engineer) Bristol, UK £38000 - £48000 Car Allowance Field Support Engineer required for leading high technology manufacturer with a world wide customer base. The company are seeing a sustained period of growth and as such as looking for a talented, hands-on engineer to travel to customer sites across the designated region to support customers in the use, installation and commissioning of their machines and products. The Role As a Customer Support Engineer (Field Engineer), you will be responsible for installing and upgrading systems and software at customer sites across the UK and EMEA region. This role involves approximately 90% travel, providing you with a dynamic work environment where you can make a direct impact on customer satisfaction. Install and upgrade systems and software at customer locations. Perform preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns at customer sites. Troubleshoot technical issues and provide expert guidance to customers. Support the Technical Helpdesk and provide manpower assistance when required. Work collaboratively within a team of engineers to exchange information and best practices. Provide timely and detailed service reports to customers. Liaise with Technical Support and Systems Engineering to address system issues. Report issues through the reporting system. Work closely with the Sales and Upgrade Team to provide valuable customer insights. Ensure all work adheres to Health and Safety, ISO 9001 Quality, and compliance systems. Assist in final product testing to ensure quality and compliance with established standards. Support customer acceptance visits and provide key insights during interactions. Maintain and manage allocated tools, ensuring high-quality standards and efficiency. Undertake any additional tasks as requested by the company. The Person Education: Degree / HNC in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics discipline or equivalent Technical Skills: Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions. Experience: Hands-on experience in customer or field service support, ideally in a high-technology electronic/instrumentation sector. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and team members. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 90% of the time). The Benefits.
