Position: Volunteering Learning and Development Manager
Location: Gilwell Park-based: You’ll be expected to work from the office once a week, plus an additional day each month to collaborate with the wider team. Home-based: You'll visit the office once every 4-6 weeks.
Salary (Gilwell Park-based): £52,000 per annum (Band G, inclusive of Outer London Weighting & market supplement)
Salary (Home-based): £50,240 per annum (Band G, inclusive of market supplement)
Term: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
About the team and role as a Learning and Development Manager Role:
As our Volunteering Learning and Development Manager, you will be instrumental in cultivating a culture of continuous learning, leveraging digital tools to address the diverse needs of our volunteers across the UK and beyond. You will drive the innovation and design of engaging learning experiences, ensuring our volunteers are well-equipped to deliver safe, high-quality programs and demonstrate strong leadership and governance skills.
As the Volunteering Learning and Development Manager, Key responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of customer-centric learning for adult volunteers.
Ensure volunteers acquire the skills necessary for successful program delivery and leadership.
Co-create a practical, digital-first learning model tailored to meet diverse volunteer needs.
Guarantee compliance by providing the right resources and tracking volunteer learning.
Work alongside subject matter experts, staff, and volunteers to create engaging, relevant learning materials.
What we are looking for in our Volunteering Learning and Development Manager Role:
Extensive knowledge in digital, blended, and non-digital learning design and delivery.
Proven ability to manage and inspire a diverse, creative team.
Track record of developing learning solutions for remote, multi-located volunteer teams.
Familiarity with current volunteering trends, challenges, and working in volunteer-driven organisations.
A self-aware, approachable leader with resilience, a sense of fun, and a drive to make improvements.
