Location: Office Base is Salford, This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.
We’re looking for a talented Tester to join our mobile team in Salford. Our mobile app teams work collaboratively and cross-discipline to add or refine functionality on the BBC iOS and Android mobile apps including BBC News, BBC Sport, BBC Weather, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds. Our mobile apps are used by an ever-increasing audience who rely on the BBC to inform, educate and entertain them. We need people who are passionate about quality and developing creative technical solutions. As a Tester you will work within your teams to make sure we do the right testing at the right time.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Contribute to the development of features, prevention of bugs and the development lifecycle, from conception and discovery through to delivery and monitoring.
* Write and execute functional and exploratory tests to assess product performance.
* Contribute to the design and implementation of automation frameworks. Advocate their use to ensure high value is achieved from Test automation relative to the investment made.
* Provide early testing input and discuss tests scenarios with the team to ensure that each feature is clearly understood before implementation, validated early and throughout implementation, and verified when implementation is complete.
* Help identify the root cause of defects using debugging tools and provide feedback to stakeholders.
* Ensure the software delivered is of high quality, fit-for-purpose, meets the requirements and is within the planned timescales.
* Support, implement and help shape the test approach.
* Work closely with all disciplines and stakeholders to support our integrations.
* Champion quality and the continual improvement of approaches and processes, ensuring they adhere to the overall Test Strategy.
* Learn different technologies and acclimatise to them rapidly.
* Learn from and contribute to the test community.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
The Ideal candidate - You may have experience of some, but not necessarily all, of the following:
* Experienced testing skills, preferably on iOS and Android mobile applications.
* Learning new technologies and ways of working within a multi-discipline team.
* Ability to anticipate and investigate problems and tackle them pragmatically.
* Ability to create, adapt, improve and execute effective test approaches and practices.
* Experience with native mobile automation technologies and programming languages. Our teams use native test frameworks (Espresso, XCUI) written in Kotlin & Swift.
* Experience working in teams with Agile/Scrum/Kanban project management.
* Experience of test and issue management tools (e.g. TestRail, Jira, Quality Centre, QASE).
* Understanding of continuous integration and build systems.
