About the Role:
SOAS is currently delivering a two-year transformation strategic project focusing on its online learning programme provision. Working within the LTE Department, this role will provide technical advice, pedagogical guidance and leadership to all users across the university for our online learning provision. The postholder will champion digital learning, equity and digital learning design and the university’s mission for educational excellence. A central aspect of the role will be enhancing the use of digital platforms by helping module teams to structure and organise their pedagogic approaches. Additionally, the postholder will be involved in building online learning objects and pathways, developing resources and working in partnership to embed best practice.
As part of the newly formed Digital Learning Design team within the LTE, the postholder will contribute to the wider work of the department, remain up to date in digital learning practice and approaches feeding into quality enhancement and quality assurance. This is a staff and student-facing role.

The Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement (LTE) provides expertise and leadership in learning, teaching, and assessment. Offering a range of services to support staff to transform the student experience, and tailored learning support for students. The department empowers others to adopt pedagogical practices that enhance learning and teaching across SOAS - this includes digital pedagogies, assessment strategies, curriculum design and online learning. The team engages in evidence-informed and student-centred approaches, and works in community with academic and professional services departments, and the wider student body, to foster spaces for collaboration, empowerment and reflection.
