The role Our Sous Chef is responsible for producing all menu items in an efficient and consistent manner. This role reports directly to the Head Chef and is part of a team based from our attractive hotel in Manchester. Sous Chef duties include: Assisting the Head Chef with responsibility for the Kitchens daily operations In the Head Chefs absence you will be responsible for the following: Responsible for ordering stock and dealing with suppliers Monitor and control stock levels Unloading and putting away deliveries Implementing control measures and training staff about COSHH and Manual Handling Ensure the cleaning schedules are followed and a high level of cleanliness throughout all kitchen is maintained at all times Liaise with the sales team for information regarding the following business weeks bookings Cooking food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Facilitating special requests from guests if received. Managing wastage through correct product measurement. Ensuring you are working towards all kitchen SOPs at all times. Setting up and stocking food items and other necessary supplies. Beyond that, you'll represent our company values and culture, ensuring that service excellence remains our top priority. Demonstrable cooking experience including experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef De Partie. Familiarity with industry best practices and Basic Food Safety are essential.
