The role
This is a full-time on-site role for a Food Production Manager located in Irlam. The Food Production Manager will be responsible for supervising production activities, planning production schedules, managing food production operations, overseeing food production, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met on a daily basis.
Key responsibilities
* To oversee daily operation of the central production unit, ensuring full compliance with H&S & F&S regulations & standards
* Partnering with head of food production, setting & driving site strategy making sure this is lived & breathed
* To deliver leadership, support & development of the team; currently up to 14 individuals across production areas & support functions
* Develop sound & efficient production processes to meet 100% order fulfilment, growth expectations + the quality standards required by our restaurants & brand
* To provide, as required, daily/weekly/monthly updates to the head of food production
* Control production costs including labour costs, ingredient usage & wastage
* Support head of food production with site’s p&l & capex budget
* Ensure completion of weekly stock takes
The experience & personal attributes we are looking for
* Preferably 3 years’ experience as an operations manager, general manager or head chef level in either fresh, frozen or ambient processing
* Strong H&S & F&S acumen
* Approachable with excellent people skills & able to manage a large team
* Able to work flexibly according to the needs of the business
* Hands-on approach & attitude
Qualifications
* Supervisory Skills and Production Management
* Experience in Production Planning and Food Service
* Knowledge of Food operations
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a team
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* Food safety certification is a plus
* Strong experience in HACCP
