The Role:
We are looking for a strong and dynamic Data Engineer with mid to senior level experience to join our Re & ILS Pricing Value Stream. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our transformation program, moving current functionality (including SSAS) from on-prem Microsoft Data Warehouse to our Cloud Data Platform, Snowflake.
Responsibilities:
* Helping to plan and create a Proof of Concept for the move to Snowflake.
* In the first phase of the project, establishing the data migration from on-prem SQL Server to Snowflake and creating the Snowflake equivalent of an SSAS cube.
* In the second phase, moving all data ingestion and processing from on-prem SQL (which uses SSIS) to Snowflake.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong knowledge of, or ability to rapidly adopt our core languages for data engineering – Python, SQL and Terraform.
* Knowledge of analytics platforms like Snowflake, data transformation tools like Dbt and orchestration tools like Prefect.
* A good understanding of CI/CD and experience with one of the CI/CD tools – Azure DevOps, GitLab or Jenkins.
* Sufficient familiarity with SQL Server, SSIS and SSAS to facilitate understanding of the current system.
