Basis: Full time
Package: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and University closure days. Generous pension scheme.
Holiday: 25 days plus Bank holidays and University closure days during Christmas & Easter.
Hours: 36 hours per week
Working Pattern: Predominantly Monday to Friday. Candidates should be available to work Monday to Sunday and some Public Holidays for University events, functions and banquets which may also be on weekends and evenings.

We are looking for an experienced chef who will be able to make St. Mary’s a destination for weddings and events and create amazing food for our students. You will have the pleasure of working in our beautiful and historic Strawberry Hill campus and enjoy a great work life balance.
We are seeking to recruit a talented and highly motivated Head Chef who will drive innovation in our food offer, maintain exceptional quality and consistency of product and inspire the team to win awards for St. Mary’s.
You will have experience of working as a Head Chef / Senior Sous Chef in a large catering and hospitality operation. University Sector experience will be beneficial but not essential. You will have a successful and progressive track record and be passionate about developing exciting food options.
The Head Chef will plan ‘On trend seasonal’ cyclic menus, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food for all food service areas ensuring customer satisfaction whilst driving sales. You will be responsible for all aspects of food safety, health & safety and COSHH processes within food production areas. You will also be required to implement and maintain food monitoring procedures to facilitate cost control against agreed budgets.

The Catering & Bar Services Team are an in-house operation passionate about food service and are committed to look after our students, staff and visitors in the best possible way. In addition to running three outlets on campus, the service delivers refreshments across campus and caters for various events including weddings in our Historic Waldegrave Suite. The service currently uses Avendra/ Pelican Procurement suppliers and it is also an associate member of TUCO.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
