To be the professional catering lead within the Care Centre by ensuring that catering services of the highest quality are provided to residents and other users including a daily restaurant service, delivering high customer satisfaction on a consistent basis over 7 days. To develop menus to meet National Nutritional Standards that respond to individual choices, needs and promotes wellbeing. Ensuring that meals are nutritionally balanced and meet the needs of service users to provide leadership to the catering team which will ensure that it is able to be responsive to the enablement and preventative agenda and to the vision and development of the centre including cooking demonstrations, events and functions. To carry out key management functions such as audits, formal supervision, appraisals, and have responsibility for all aspects of employee relations. To take a lead responsibility for the management of the allocated catering budget, including income generation, and the management of stock. Ensuring that all purchases are in line with Birmingham Financial Policies and procedures. To adhere to safe working practices whilst carrying out duties in line with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and to follow specific work schedules. A flexible working approach with a willingness to support other services within the Centres to maintain a reliable, quality service. You will be required to work a 5 day rota including early/late shifts and some weekends and Bank Holiday cover. The service is part of a city wide provision and as a result individuals may be required to move location in response to service needs.
