As a Senior Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Storage product line, you will be instrumental in analyzing and optimizing our storage infrastructure to minimize unnecessary expenditure and environmental impact, while ensuring performance and reliability. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to storage usage, costs, and performance. You will identify potential areas for improvement, devise strategies, and lead projects to enhance storage efficiency.
Job responsibilities
1. Analyze storage usage patterns, costs and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimizing costs and reducing environmental impact.
2. Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to track storage utilization, costs, performance and sustainability metrics, such as carbon footprint and energy consumption – both internal focused and user focused.
3. Conduct cost-benefit analysis and ROI assessments for proposed storage optimization projects.
4. Develop requirements for the data engineering team to create data sources and data models, and dashboards where we lack visibility.
5. Identify opportunities to improve cost and sustainability, develop requirements for software engineers and technical writers.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and establish metrics for evaluating storage optimization initiatives for cost, performance and sustainability.
7. Implement data-driven strategies and initiatives to optimize storage efficiency, reduce costs, and improve performance.
8. Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to storage cost optimization and sustainability.
9. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
10. Develop, implement and maintain dashboards and reports to present data insights
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
11. Formal training or certification on Data Analysis or Product Management concepts and proficient advanced experience
12. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, Python, R or similar
13. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
14. Great problem solving skills
15. Strong team player with positive attitude
16. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
17. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
