Are you skilled in building powerful data systems? We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our team at Northern, where you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising data infrastructure that powers analytics and decision-making.
You'll work closely with data analysts and IT teams to ensure that data is processed efficiently and is available when needed. If you're passionate about enhancing operational insights and improving the passenger experience, we'd love to hear from you!
What you'll be doing:
1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that integrate data from various sources, ensuring timely and accurate data availability.
2. Build and manage data infrastructure such as databases, data lakes, and cloud environments to support storage, processing, and analysis needs.
3. Develop and enforce data quality standards to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
4. Collaborate with data analysts and business teams to ensure data pipelines meet reporting and analysis needs.
5. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in data engineering and continuously innovate to enhance data infrastructure.
About You:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering and experience with data pipeline tools.
3. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and data warehousing solutions.
4. Familiarity with data quality, governance, and privacy best practices.
5. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for effective collaboration with both technical and business teams.
