Responsibilities
What you'll be doing
* Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes to ensure seamless data integration from various sources into our Snowflake-powered data warehouse and lakehouse.
* Design and implement data models and schemas for both structured and unstructured data to enhance performance and scalability.
* Collaborate with IT, business, and data teams to deliver scalable data solutions that ensure accurate, timely data availability.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives by automating data processes and improving system efficiency.
* Stay at the forefront of emerging data technologies and best practices, driving innovation and system enhancements.
The ideal candidate will have
* Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data warehousing, data lakehouse development, and ETL/ELT processes.
* Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Snowflake, as well as legacy data systems.
* Familiarity with data integration standards and best practices, including REST APIs, SOAP, and data streaming technologies.
* Strong understanding of cloud data storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake) and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark).
* Proficient in CI/CD pipelines, version control, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automating and streamlining data workflows.
* Skilled in automating data processes and setting up monitoring and logging systems to ensure operational efficiency and data quality.
* Proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Education and Qualifications
* Relevant certifications in cloud technologies (e.g. AWS Certified Data Analytics, Snowflake certification).
