Job Description
Location: North West with some travel
Salary: Flexible to suit experience - guide of £28-32k plus bonus
Variety. Responsibility. Rapid progression. If these are some of your top priorities, you’ll find nowhere better to give you the ultimate job satisfaction.
This is a privately owned food ingredients supplier. Over the past 20 years, it’s seen huge growth, although it’s still at a size where everyone knows everyone and the work you do is totally transparent for all to see, so you won’t just be a face in the crowd.
Renowned for their agile customer service and their incredible technical support, the business sells to a broad range of food manufacturers in the bakery, dairy, savoury and plant-based fields – not just in the UK, but with an increasing international presence as well.
We’re looking for a Graduate Technical Sales Executive. Predominantly site-based at first, you’ll be responsible for upholding the company’s reputation of responding to customers quickly and thoroughly, whether that’s on the phone or via email. You’ll work closely with a number of senior managers, soaking up decades of knowledge which will act as a catapult for your career – the exposure you’ll get in your first 6 months will give you the learnings that would take years in most other companies.
Quickly, you’ll be invited to join face to face customer visits, working with senior sales people to get a feel for what happens in those meetings. Before long, you’ll be able to handle those in-person meetings yourself, as well as managing your own customer portfolio by truly understanding the company’s USPs, its product range and what customers expect of you.
This is an entry-level position that would be best suited to a recent Food Science graduate. After graduating, you might have gained experience as a Technologist, or perhaps gone straight into a junior sales position. We don’t need to see sales experience – this could be your first sales job – but you will need to explain why you’re interested in making this step. The degree in Food Science and a little bit of exposure to the working world in the food industry is non-negotiable, although any knowledge of food ingredients would be a bonus.
You’ll need to live, or be prepared to move, to north west England for this site-based position.
