The BBC Studios Product and Technology group is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of the Studios portfolio of products.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
The Senior Tester will be an integral part of a dynamic agile development team, working closely with all team members to ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality digital products. The expectations for responsibilities and accountabilities are as follows:
* Design and implement clear test strategies to ensure thorough testing of all functional and non-functional requirements.
* Plan, estimate, and report on testing activities using specific methodologies to track and ensure progress.
* Develop and maintain automated tests with BDD frameworks, using tools such as Puppeteer, Playwright, or Cypress to guarantee consistent results.
* Collaborate with the development team to ensure products meet all specified requirements, utilising version control systems like GitHub for effective collaboration.
* Create and maintain detailed test cases and scripts based on user stories, including automated tests for integration and user interface (UI) elements.
* Identify, document, and resolve critical bugs with clear reports that provide evidence and solutions.
* Communicate testing progress and issues effectively to all relevant stakeholders, adapting communication style as needed.
* Use test management tools such as TestRail, Azure, or Jira to organise and track testing efforts.
* Ensure all products meet usability and accessibility standards to provide an optimal user experience.
* Apply cloud computing knowledge (e.g., AWS) when relevant to the testing and deployment of applications.
