Experienced Sous Chef, Dining Pub, Islington
We are currently recruiting for a talented, experienced, Sous Chef to join the kitchen brigade at this fantastic, independently owned group dining, gastro pubs based in Islington. With a real focus on seasonal produce and a passion for outstanding standards and service. This is an award wining operator, with every pub being unique, we are looking for an ambitious Sous Chef with experience of cooking to a 2 Rosette standard with smoked meat background, to lead the team & assist the Head Chef with the everyday running and menu development

The Place
Our client is a beautiful historic pub in Islington with a fantastic all day dining menu, beautiful terrace and large garden. They are passionate about food and their menu is focused on seasonality and traditional offering the best and most original smoked and grilled food in London. They also boast a wide selection of British & European lagers, beers, real ales and ciders, and their wine list was developed by a leading wine expert to perfectly complement their food offering specialising in smoked meats and a specials board bursting with coal-grilled prime cuts and slow-cooked specialities.
The Person
The ideal Sous Chef will have the following:
- Solid experience in a fresh food kitchen
- 2 years experience in a similar kitchen with 2 Rosette standard at Sous Chef level
- Smoked meats experience and open coal cooking
- Can do attitude & team player
- Eager to learn new techniques
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Confidence to leading a team in a busy service
- Fully flexible on day/evening/weekend shifts
- A true passion for food and have the enthusiasm and willingness to learn
