SR2 have just partnered with a fast-growing UK Consultancy who are urgently looking to hire several Mid - Senior Data Engineers.
This consultancy work closely alongside businesses operating in Financial Services and Investment.
Location:
Central Newcastle.
Salary:
£45,000 – 55,000 for Mid-level Data Engineers.
£60, 000 - 75,000 for Senior-level Data Engineers.
Tech / Tools:
Python, SQL, ELT, Apache Spark, DataBricks.
Key responsibilities:
// As one of the Data Engineers, you will be responsible for the development, testing, and maintenance of their data platform, ensuring the availability, reliability, and integrity of all data.
// You will work with your team to help deliver key projects on time and to a high standard.
// Create robust, performant data pipelines.
// Work on messy, complex real-world data challenges across multiple asset classes.
// You will interact and build relationships directly with their clients and technology teams.
// Work directly with stakeholders.
// Demonstrate strong programming / scripting skills in Python.
// Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines to improve efficiency and quality of data processing.
// Develop and implement data standards and quality rules
// Build robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
// Continuously monitor system performance and implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
// The role will give you exposure to a wide variety of data types with significant opportunities to master different practices, tools and skills.
Ideal candidate:
// 4+ years in a Data Engineering position.
// Highly proficient in Python, SQL and Apache Spark. Must be confident using these tools in a production context.
// Databricks and Microsoft Azure experience is key.
// Financial Services experience a bonus, but is not essential.
// Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on scalable, high-quality solutions.
// Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education:
A minimum 2.1 degree obtained in Computer Science, or a related field, ideally from a Russell Group University.
