The Kitchen Manager is responsible for managing the operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, inventory control, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Manager ensures that food is of the highest quality, efficiently prepared, and delivered to customers on time.
Salary: £27,000 per year
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure the highest quality.
2. Ensure the kitchen is fully stocked with ingredients and equipment.
3. Plan menus and adjust recipes based on seasonality, customer preferences, and budget constraints.
4. Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff, including chefs, line cooks, dishwashers, and prep cooks.
5. Foster a positive work environment, motivating the team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
6. Monitor staff performance, providing feedback, and addressing any issues promptly.
Stock Control & Ordering:
1. Manage food inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage and stock rotation.
2. Maintain accurate records of food usage and waste.
3. Work with suppliers to source the best ingredients at the best price.
Health & Safety Compliance:
1. Ensure the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and food safety standards.
2. Regularly inspect kitchen equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and safe to use.
Customer Satisfaction:
1. Ensure food is served promptly and meets the establishment's standards for taste and presentation.
2. Address any food-related customer complaints or issues with professionalism and a solution-oriented approach.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar role (e.g., Head Chef or Sous Chef).
2. In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene.
3. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse team.
4. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
5. Knowledge of budgeting and stock management.
6. Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.

1. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently.
4. Creativity in menu planning and food presentation.
Working Conditions:
1. Must be able to work weekends and bank holidays.
