Our client is a leading specialist Travel E-commerce firm based on Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
They are a forward-thinking company leveraging data to drive business decisions. The team utilizes modern tools and technologies, including BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and AWS, to create scalable and efficient data solutions. They're seeking a Data Engineer passionate about data and experienced in building, maintaining, and optimizing data systems and pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Data Infrastructure:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures using BigQuery or equivalent GCP/AWS cloud tools, as well as interacting with structured MySQL databases that run their websites and systems.
Implement and manage data warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
Data Integration & Management:
Develop and optimize data integration workflows from internal and third party systems.
Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across systems.
Full understanding of version control/GIT and advanced documentation skills.
Collaboration:
Work closely with stakeholders to define data needs and deliver solutions.
Collaborate with the development team to create a cohesive infrastructure where crossover is necessary. Adhering to common development practices already in place.
Analytics & Reporting:
Support the maintenance of analytics tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
Collaborate on visualizing data through popular tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Data Studio.
Desirable Skills:
Flexibility and willingness to evaluate and adopt the best tools and approaches for data workflows, including Python, R, or other technologies.
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Data Studio.
Knowledge of other analytics platforms and methodologies.
Clear knowledge of data location laws and compliance requirements
Ability to use the outputs to inform website updates. Variant testing, UX and CRO knowledge to achieve this (basic developer skills ideal)
