The role itself is a balance of a day to day retail and coffee bar offering, high levels of day time hospitality and some evening events. Job Description We are seeking a talented and innovative Sous Chef to join our culinary team in the heart of London. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests while supporting the Head Chef in daily operations. Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to develop and implement creative, seasonally-inspired menus Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment Assist in managing inventory, controlling costs, and maintaining budget targets Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation techniques Step in for the Head Chef when necessary, demonstrating strong leadership and decision-making skills Participate in team meetings and collaborate with front-of-house staff to enhance overall guest satisfaction Continuously research culinary trends and innovative cooking techniques to keep our offerings fresh and exciting Qualifications Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality-focused restaurant environment Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience Valid food safety certification Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse kitchen team Strong financial acumen and analytical skills for budget management and cost control Excellent organisational abilities and keen attention to detail Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and innovative cooking techniques Experience in inventory management and supplier relations Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to continuous learning in the field Additional Information For almost 20 years, for every client, in every location (whether that's an office, stadium, cathedral or university), we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus and friendly teams, so that each and every customer can have the hospitality experience they deserve.
