Leading a small team, you’ll make sure our pay, benefits, pension provision and recognition schemes are competitive, sustainable and reflect our values. You’ll be our go-to expert on all things reward, working closely with our Human Resources and Development (HRD), Finance, and leadership teams to balance affordability with making Home Group a great place to work.
Typical day as our Reward Manager
* Designing and delivering fair, competitive, and transparent reward and benefits strategies that help attract and retain our brilliant people.
* Managing salary structures, job evaluation, and pay benchmarking to ensure we’re rewarding fairly and competitively whilst staying within budget.
* Overseeing our all-colleague annual pay award and mutual award, informing the discussions through your robust benchmarking and salary data. You’ll ensure it is well-communicated, and that outcomes ensure our colleagues feel valued.
* Bringing reward to life by turning data into insights, making evidence-based recommendations and shaping our total rewards package.
* Keeping a close eye on employment law and pay regulations, staying ahead of changes and making sure we’re always compliant.
* Engaging with key stakeholders, including finance, procurement, leadership teams, and our Joint Negotiating and Consultative Committee (JNCC).

You have
* Reward, compensation, or benefits management experience with a strong background in designing and managing salary structures, pay frameworks, and benefits packages.
* Project management experience and able to lead reward-related initiatives, such as pay structure reviews or benefits redesign.
* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, with experience in pay and reward management.
* Knowledge of UK employment law and pay compliance, including gender pay gap reporting, equal pay, and the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
* Job evaluation expertise using methodologies such as Hay, Korn Ferry, NJC, or similar.
* Data analysis and benchmarking skills with the ability to interpret market pay data, conduct internal pay reviews, and use data to make evidence-based recommendations.
* Strong communication skills to engage colleagues and stakeholders, clearly explain reward policies and support change initiatives.
Job details
* Hybrid working from our brilliant office at One Strawberry Lane in Newcastle city centre for a minimum of 2 days per week and the rest from home.
* Full time, 37.5 hpw, flexible working hours.
