Job Summary:
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food and service. This role involves menu planning, food preparation, staff management, and maintaining health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Control and direct the food preparation process and any other related activities.
Menu Development: Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations, ensuring variety and quality.
Quality Control: Approve and polish dishes before they reach the customer.
Inventory Management: Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages and manage inventory.
Staff Management: Hire, train, and manage kitchen staff, ensuring a cooperative and respectful work environment.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Problem Solving: Remedy any problems or defects in the kitchen operations.
Budget Management: Create and maintain a kitchen budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role.
Skills: Exceptional kitchen management skills, leadership abilities, and outstanding communication skills.
Knowledge: Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
Desirable Qualities:
Creativity in designing and planning dishes and menus.
Physical stamina and dexterity.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
