We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our Data team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development, testing, and maintenance of our data platform, ensuring data integrity, reliability, and availability. You will work closely with both front-office and technology teams to support business objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Engage with stakeholders to understand and define data requirements
2. Maintain and enhance the data platform using internal and third-party tools
3. Automate data processes and workflows
4. Build and manage data pipelines from various providers
5. Curate internal and external datasets to meet business needs
6. Design and implement best-practice data solutions
7. Develop and enforce data standards and quality measures
What Makes a Great Candidate?
1. Experience in a data-focused role with a passion for working with data and supporting stakeholders
2. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Apache Spark, with hands-on production experience
3. Experience with Databricks and Microsoft Azure is a plus
4. Financial services experience is beneficial but not required
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Ability to translate complex data concepts for different audiences
7. Capable of working independently and delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on scalable, high-quality solutions
9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
10. Attention to detail and a keen eye for data accuracy
11. A desire to understand business challenges, develop domain expertise, and improve market knowledge
12. A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related field, ideally from a top-tier university
