As one of the Department’s reward managers you will play a supporting role in bringing together the Department for Transport’s core teams, agencies and Arm's Lengths Bodies (ALBs) to develop and deliver our reward strategy, policies, and other interventions to ensure that we can attract and retain the skills and capabilities needed to deliver organisational priorities.
Reward is high profile and exciting part of the HR function where you can play a critical role that affects all your colleagues, as well as impacting the public by enabling the Department. You will be supported to use your skills and expertise, and you will be empowered to make a difference.
This role will have a particular focus on pensions, as well as working with our agencies and ALBs on all reward matters across a variety of projects.
You will also play a leading role in our pensions team, working with the wider team and our pensions provider to deliver an ever-improving expert service to the Department.
Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills set out in the Civil Service Line Management Standards. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
Responsibilities
Include, but not limited to:
* Providing pension guidance and support to the Pension team who provide expert pension advice to staff members who are part of the Civil Service Pension Scheme and Rail Pension Scheme.
* Providing Civil Service Compensation Scheme support and guidance to the Pension team, HRBPs and line managers.
* Provide support to the Pension Lead on historic rail pension budgets, working with Railpen contacts and DfT Finance Team.
* Providing expert Reward advice to our Arm’s Length Bodies (ALB) shareholder and sponsor colleagues on a range of queries, annual pay remits and senior salary cases.
* Lead on managing relationships with agency reward and pension leads, including providing expert reward advice (based on your analysis of data and insights) and facilitating group and individual meetings.
