We are delighted to be recruiting for this head chef position for our independent clients who have operated this successful town centre all day restaurant for many years.
This venue is very well known for its quality of service and food standards, with all day breakfast & fresh food led lunch menus, served 6 days a week 8am-2pm. This position offers a fantastic work/life balance, as it is closed Sundays! It is also busy enough & has such a high quality menu that any chef coming from a typical gastro pub or restaurant/hotel kitchen will not be getting bored, which can sometimes be the case with daytime venues.
Managing a small team of chefs, this is a hands-on position, with the head chef leading from the stoves every day.
The ideal chef will be able to demonstrate:
1. A calm & composed personality, with the ability to lead and enthuse the junior chefs during busy periods, as well as in downtime.
2. Experience working in a fresh food led café would be ideal, although experience working in a busy afternoon tea venue would also be beneficial.
3. An understanding of the latest H&S, Allergen regulations & food trends.
4. Sound kitchen management, including rotas, budgets, costings & menu planning.
