Data Engineer £40,000-£45,000 Stoke-On-Trent, Hybrid Permanent role Responsibilities: Design and implement data pipelines to collect, process, and analyse aviation-related data from various sources. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and databases optimised for performance and scalability. Collaborate with data manager/scientist to translate business requirements into technical solutions and insights. Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure the integrity and reliability of our data. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in data engineering and aviation analytics. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, preferably in the aviation industry or a related domain. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java, and experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Bonus Skills: Knowledge of aviation data sources, standards, and regulations. Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and machine learning techniques.
