Overview
The Reform Club, an esteemed establishment in the heart of London, is seeking a talented Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and motivated individual passionate about culinary excellence and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations and staff management.
* Oversee food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and safety standards.
* Maintain food safety and hygiene practices as required by health regulations.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
* Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste through effective food production techniques.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and used correctly to uphold safety standards.
* Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff rotas to ensure efficient operation during service hours.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
* Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines, emphasising quality presentation.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring consistency across all dishes served.
* Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining composure during busy service periods.
* A genuine passion for culinary arts and a commitment to continuous learning within the field.
