The department Birketts is seeking to recruit a full time Records Management Assistant to support the Records Manager with the records management, administration and archiving functions of our law firm. The role will assist with the day-to-day management of data across Birketts to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and take responsibility for maintaining and arranging appropriate access to collect archives in liaison with our clients and colleagues. As well as effectively managing the auditing of all RMT data and physical records. Purpose of job Dealing with the storage of all documents handled by the firm, including Deeds, Files, Wills, Probates and Securities, in a confidential manner. Liaising with other areas of the firm in delivering/ collecting of documents and dealing with queries. Assist with maintaining the electronic databases. Assist with ongoing data cleansing and other related projects. The candidate We are looking for a candidate who has excellent attention to detail skills with strong organisational abilities. You will have a high level of computer literacy, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, build and maintain good working relationships, work independently, and be able to demonstrate proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately. The role is physical, where you will be required to lift and move files and boxes. Full training will be given for the role, but any previous experience in a similar role within archieving or records is desirable but not essential. The role is based from our Norwich office but will require one day per week in Cambridge (travel expensed).
