Job Description
Reporting to: Membership Services Manager
Based at: Elizabeth House, 8a Princess Street, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6DD
Note: Applications are welcomed with no previous experience but a desire to work in sales is essential.
Job Purpose
* To help the National Federation of Builders to meet our commercial objectives and membership growth targets through the sales of membership to builders, contractors, housebuilders and their suppliers across England and Wales.
* To identify opportunities for sales and feed into the company’s sales and marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver regular sales of NFB memberships, our core offering.
* Develop an understanding of prospective members’ needs.
* Ensure and clearly articulate how prospective members will benefit from membership of the NFB.
* Proactively identify business leads through online research, traditional channels and networking.
* Convert sales leads through the marketing pipeline.
* Maintain the company’s CRM system Workbooks ensuring concise accurate records of all calls and dialogue with prospect members, maintaining active records in line with company policy.
* Act as a first point of contact for prospective members, present a professional image in all communications and meetings.
* Maintain a detailed understanding of services offered by the NFB and the construction industry in general.
* Meet or exceed planned membership targets and agreed Key Performance Indicators, agreed with your line manager.
* Contribute to a positive and professional team environment.
* Any other duties commensurate with the level of the post as requested from time to time by the line manager.
Person Specification
Essential
* Desire to sell and enthusiasm for success.
* Willingness to use the phone to speak to prospective customers on a daily basis.
* Articulate with good interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
* Ability to communicate effectively with people.
* Excellent organisational skills and willingness to work to deadlines and under pressure.
* A team player able to work harmoniously with others.
* Comfortable with learning and using IT processes, particularly Microsoft and the company’s CRM system.
Preferable but not essential
* Existing knowledge of the construction industry.
* Experience of sourcing own leads and consultative approach to sales.
* A proven track record of sales in a B2B environment.
