POSITION SUMMARY As Sous Chef, you will work alongside the Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and oversee daily operations. This role requires a hands-on and collaborative approach, ensuring that high service standards, creativity, and operational efficiency are maintained. This position demands culinary expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring others. You will help drive the success of Le Café NAC by supporting the team, maintaining food quality, and contributing to a dynamic work culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee daily kitchen operations alongside the Head Chef, ensuring smooth service and consistent food quality. Inspire, train, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive and professional work environment. Assist the Head Chef in developing, refining, and executing a menu that reflects creativity and exceptional quality. Maintain consistency in food preparation, execution, and presentation across all services. Uphold food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, ensuring full compliance at all times. Control stock, inventory, and ordering, minimising waste and maintaining budget targets. Support the Head Chef in implementing process improvements to enhance kitchen efficiency and maintain quality standards. KEY REQUIREMENTS Culinary Skills: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a high-energy, high-volume kitchen. Passion for Food: A love for French-inspired cuisine with global influences and a creative approach to dish execution. Team Leadership: Strong ability to train, mentor, and motivate a kitchen team. Operational Expertise: Knowledge of kitchen processes, food safety, and inventory management. Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining the highest standards in food preparation, plating, and presentation.
