As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Executive Head Chef with the seamless running of all kitchen operations. Your commitment to excellence in food quality, presentation, and kitchen management will help bring our culinary vision to life, elevating guest experiences across both our signature restaurant, 144 on the Hill, and our events. Key Responsibilities: Lead and inspire the kitchen team, promoting efficient service and a positive, collaborative work environment. Uphold high standards in food preparation, presentation, and consistency, ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations. Oversee the timely delivery of freshly prepared dishes in our restaurant and at events, maintaining quality and flavour in every plate. Work alongside the Executive Head Chef to design innovative, seasonal menus that cater to diverse dietary preferences and reflect current culinary trends. Manage inventory, stock control, and ordering processes, focusing on cost-efficiency and reducing waste. Collaborate with other departments to deliver smooth, exceptional guest experiences. Maintain rigorous health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring the kitchen meets or exceeds regulatory requirements. Ensure kitchen cleanliness, organization, and a streamlined workflow. Stay informed on industry trends, applying best practices to enhance our culinary offerings continuously. Requirements: Demonstrated experience as a Junior Sous Chef or a similar leadership role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel. Strong culinary expertise with a passion for creativity, innovation, and high standards. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Financial acumen, including experience with budget management and achieving profitability targets. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
