Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Leeds office.
About this opportunity Join our team in the inbound change lab, where you'll work on exciting risk projects and deliver regulatory and technology change. We assess external change items and ensure they align with our Prudential models, processes, and controls.
We're looking for someone who can quickly grasp new technical challenges with a broad understanding of how data solutions and services are developed, tested and implemented.
In this role you’ll: Collaborate with the Data Engineer Lead, Product Owner, and customers to understand and prioritise items for the feature team backlog, ensuring the products meet the required standards.
Use strong problem-solving skills and a combination of technical knowledge, experience and judgement to identify available options and clearly set-out the way forward using Agile methodology.
As part of the team, you'll contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of data processes. This supports regulatory and prudential change and includes building data pipelines for analytics and reporting solutions.
SAS is the primary architecture currently utilised and a deep understanding of this technology is required.
There is a target to move to Cloud based technologies on GCP in the near future, so experience in this is desirable.

What you’ll need: Strong Data Engineering background and a knowledge of agile development practices.
Literate in SQL and SAS, to be able to read and understand the code written by others.
Demonstrable experience of using both SAS DI and SAS EG.
Understanding of performance tuning in SAS (indexing, clustering, etc).
Ability to comprehend intricate business requirements and build business-ready solutions.
Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, particularly the ability to convey business information arising from technical subject matter to non-technical people.
And any experience of these would be really useful: An appreciation of Impairment and Capital Risk.
Knowledge of Jira and agile methodologies
Cloud understanding, particularly GCP
Knowledge of LeMans data structures
