Cross-border Information is recruiting a sales executive in the business development team, with a focus on selling subscription-based reports and conference delegate passes for our African Energy brands. The successful candidate will be contacting businesses within the African energy business sectors by phone and email. Experience The successful candidate will have some experience of the following areas: · Working on targeted sales campaigns. · At least two years successful track record in sales/business development in a B2B environment approaching prospective clients via telephone, email conference calls and email. · Matching clients’ objectives with the company’s products and services. Responsibilities · Reaching out to potential clients to increase sales against agreed targets for the set products. · Generating leads from marketing campaigns. · Monitoring and maintaining all sales activity on a regular basis including lists of priority targets on a shared CRM system. · Setting up group calls. · Working with different teams including editorial, research, marketing and production to obtain the best outcome. · Learning and internalising the key selling points of the services that we provide. Skills The candidate will also possess the ability to: · Identify good sales prospects and business development opportunities. · Engage with prospects on the telephone. · Develop good relationships. · Listen to all prospects, understand customer requirements, identify needs and match solutions to those needs. · Concisely convey our strengths and unique qualities to different levels and nationalities of business contacts. Knowledge The candidate will be able to demonstrate possession of knowledge or interest and appetite to learn in the following areas: · Client approval processes and how they work in different sized and shaped institutions · The energy sector, ideally with some understanding of electric power and energy transition. · Business conditions in Africa.
