At Leonardo Helicopters, we are looking for a Data Engineer. You will report into the Control Tower Manager and build, test and maintain data management systems to enable efficient data analytics within the Procurement and Supply Chain function, collaborating closely with Digital Services.
This is a level 5 role on our internal Salary and Career Progression Framework (SC&PF).
• Design, develop and deliver data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
• Integrate large, complex data sets to make information and data available to key stakeholders
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, designing data models
• Recommend ways to improve management of data to assert control of the lifecycle of company data assets
• Employ sophisticated methods to prepare data for use in prognostic, predictive and prescriptive modelling
• Conduct research to improve data integrity and update company systems accordingly
• As required, work with stakeholders including Engineering, Operations and Material Services with data-related technical issues and support their data integrity needs, and applying that gained knowledge to Procurement and Supply Chain needs as applicable.
• As required, support with Data Analysis work for Procurement and Supply Chain, and any other requirements related to Procurement and Supply Chain function.
• Experience in using Data Engineering tools and technology
• Experience manipulating, processing and extracting value from large data sets
• Strong analytical skills
• Confidence working with relational databases and query authoring
• Experience of performing root cause analysis on internal and external data quality and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Is able to communicate effectively across the organisation, understanding the context.
• Awareness of the need to make complex information and language simple and accessible for non-technical audiences Grade awarded will be based upon individual application and experience.
• Knowledge and experience of using programming languages such as Python and SQL is advantageous. Ability to learn programming languages is essential.
