The opportunity
As Lead Data Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership and mentorship of the Data Engineering team helping them in the design, development, testing, and deployment of quality data analytics solutions and services.
This is a pivotal role in supporting the Partnership to be truly data led by equipping them with robust data platforms

Key Accountabilities:
9. Providing technical leadership by staying up to date on the latest technologies and trends and using that knowledge to help the team develop innovative and effective solutions
10. Ownership of the technical solutions
11. Mentorship
12. Understanding and translating user requirements into technical specifications
13. Designing and Implementing data solutions
14. Writing and testing code
15. Debugging and fixing software defects
16. Maintaining and updating software
17. Working with data engineers, trainers and stakeholders
What will you need to succeed?
Qualifications/ Experience:
18. Strong commercial experience of data engineering and a proven track record of developing data solutions at the enterprise level
Knowledge:
19. SQL Server (TSQL)
20. Cloud services (Microsoft Azure preferably)
21. SSIS, SSRS § Data modelling/ Power BI
22. Data Warehouse and Report Layer design
23. Strong SQL/database querying skills
24. Microsoft BI (full stack) expertise (desirable)
25. Azure DevOps Pipelines
26. Azure Synapse experience (desirable)
27. Azure Databricks experience (desirable)
28. Knowledge of Azure portal and Azure services
29. Knowledge of Agile working and Azure DevOps
30. Experience of data testing

31. Strong communication skills to be effective with both technical and non-technical audiences.
