This position is a hybrid role based in OES’ Birmingham office (2-3 days per week).
The Learning Designer role will identify pedagogically sound, effective, innovative and fit-for-purpose module design that aligns learning and assessment activities. Working with subject specialist content developers, the technical team and academic quality teams, the Learning Designer will create online learning content for programmes that comply with agreed quality standards, whilst also ensuring that the online design optimises the student learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Online learning content
* Contribute to initial module design with the Learning Design team, and academic subject specialists, to define learning content, assessment and activity requirements.
* Communicate with module leaders and engage in an ongoing collaborative development process to ensure course developments take place effectively, efficiently and in accordance with OES’s quality standards
* Support content developers to adapt face-to-face teaching materials for online delivery, involvement in the development of additional teaching resource and providing subject specialist developers with appropriate documentation
* Edit written learning materials and providing feedback for action
* Liaise with the OES team regarding pedological design and delivery issues to inform the optimisation of VLEs and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Ensuring high quality
* Implement regular reviews and improvement of online learning content according to established timescales and in response to university partner/stakeholder feedback.
* Liaise with OES technology teams to resolve/improve issues with the VLE/Content Management System.
* Document ongoing maintenance and improvement of online module content and other essential documents and resources.
Education research
* Research the latest trends and advances in education and online learning, with specific emphasis on VLE/LMS usability and capabilities.

o Educated to degree level
