About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead the culinary team at a prestigious 4-star hotel in Aberdeenshire, part of a renowned luxury hotel group. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences, a strong background in restaurant or hotel dining, and the ability to manage and inspire a team of dedicated kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
* Utilize the finest Scottish ingredients, such as locally sourced seafood, game, and produce, and elevate them with classic French culinary techniques.
* Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation, aiming for 1-2 AA Rosette level cuisine.
* Manage and train a kitchen brigade of 5, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effective operations.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
* Collaborate with management to develop and implement innovative menu ideas, particularly for weddings and special events in our 27-bedroom hotel with a ballroom.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-end restaurant or hotel.
* Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and cuisines.
* Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
* Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications.
