Head of Communications at Friends of ANCHOR
Background
The ANCHOR Unit is the Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy, where care and treatment is provided for people with cancer or blood disorders. Friends of ANCHOR exists to support the patients and staff in the Unit, and we also fund research.
Our staff team is 12-strong, and the successful candidate will be based within our fundraising office – working closely alongside our hospital-based wellbeing team. This will be a significant year for Friends of ANCHOR as the charity readies its services in time for the opening of The ANCHOR Centre, a new cancer and haematology facility in Aberdeen. Two of the charity’s flagship events, Courage on the Catwalk and Brave, will return to P&J Live in Aberdeen for a sell-out run, and our long-running annual Gala Golf Event will return in a new format – so there are plenty of exciting projects to make your mark on during the period in post.
The Post
This is a maternity cover post and whoever joins our team will play a key role in the success of our events and campaigns throughout the year, with the opportunity to really make their mark during the contracted period. The salary for this post is funded by our founding sponsor Balmoral Group, rather than through charity funds.
