Responsibilities

* Work closely with the SEN team to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement strategies that support students' academic progress in science.
* Adapt teaching techniques and resources to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, using creative approaches to ensure that science is accessible and enjoyable for all students.
* Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary, ensuring that all SEN students are achieving their learning objectives.
* Collaborate with other subject teachers, SEN staff, parents, and external specialists to create a holistic support system for SEN students within the school.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEN teaching strategies, contributing to the wider school community by sharing best practices and attending relevant professional development sessions.
Experience and Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a focus or specialization in Science
* Experience teaching science to secondary school students, with a proven track record of working with students with a range of special educational needs
* Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, parents, and external agencies
* A passion for inclusive education and the ability to inspire and motivate SEN students to achieve their best
* A clear DBS check and the legal right to work within the UK
