Responsibilities
* Comply with all safety rules, procedures and job safety codes.
* Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders for workers, and assigns duties under the direction of the supervisor daily.
* Trains new employees in proper methods and procedures.
* Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
* Conduct daily safety inspections.
* Maintain the self-balancing flow process and methods, and work to continuously improve.
* Encourage employees to perform daily pre-use inspection checklist for equipment and machinery.
* Perform complete machine set up for all job orders and carry out basic troubleshooting.
* Read travelers and job packets to ascertain required material.
* Ensure use of personal protective equipment and safe operation by all operators.
* Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors and first shift.
* Report equipment or tooling issues, material shortages, and safety discrepancies to the department supervisor.
* Inspect in-coming and out-going material for quality and quantity.
* Follow lockout/tagout process in the event of machine breakdown.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Maintain equipment in good functional order.
* Report hazards and unsafe conditions to department supervisor.
* Participate in method improvement ideas and support projects to meet company goals.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience
* High school diploma or general education degree.
* Three years related experience in close tolerance sheet metal forming and/or training.
* Self-Balancing Flow manufacturing knowledge/experience is essential.
Skills
* Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and safety rules.
* Basic computer skills including Windows OS, Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
* Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. The work environment is usually loud and may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts.
