We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager to join the senior management team at our Hull site.

If so, this is an ideal opportunity to join us at an exciting time in this hugely integral role, in which you will be accountable for operational delivery with a scope covering production and technical functions, from maintenance and process engineering to our 24/7 manufacturing operations.
This role involves ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence. Reporting to the Plant Director (Site GM), you will set the culture, improve compliance, and drive continuous improvement to deliver results. This is a full-time site-based role at our plant in Hull (HU9).
Key responsibilities will include:
Operational Management
1. Ensure that creating a safe working environment and maintaining a safety-first culture is prioritized at all times.
2. Actively monitor sales forecasts to identify any impact on our production and process operations, implementing efficiency strategies and developing management procedures.
3. Work with agreed KPIs to measure success (short, medium, and long-term plans), develop actions, drive delivery, and communicate progress across various levels of the business.
4. Manage, mentor, and develop a multifunctional operations team, promoting a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
5. Provide effective leadership to your team (currently 4 direct reports, with broader indirect headcount accountabilities), coaching and developing to promote high performance that delivers continuous improvement, added value, and cost reductions.
6. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to support team members' growth and development.
7. Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments within your functions, and across the wider business, to achieve operational goals.
Creating a culture of continuous improvement
1. Actively support and participate in company change programmes, taking a common-sense approach to encouraging operational transformation.
2. Identify, explore, and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety.
3. Interpret and analyse data and trends, developing recommendations and strategies for improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration
1. Support the Plant Director and Financial Controller with accurate forecasts and budgets relevant to the operational remit, including CAPEX.
2. Build effective working relationships with a team of senior managers, as well as key divisional figures across our global business, to drive our commercial advantage.
About You
1. We are looking for proven operational experience gained from leadership roles within an operational remit in manufacturing.
2. Results-oriented experience with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects, both individual and of your direct reports, to deliver against objectives and deadlines.
3. A key role model who knows what great looks like, ensuring that the strengths of your team members are celebrated and continually developed, and that development areas are managed as opportunities for growth.
4. You will be an effective communicator who can coach and develop your team members, as well as engaging collaboratively with key stakeholders from across our global matrix organisation.
5. Commercially and financially astute with a passion for process improvement, alongside a knowledge of multisite P&L management including forecasting and budgeting.
6. You will have successfully led and implemented change projects with a common-sense approach to encouraging continual cultural, technological, and operational transformation.
7. Your exposure to MRP/ERP systems would be advantageous, as would a knowledge of lean techniques.
