This progressive Emergency Department is seeking well motivated, enthusiastic Doctors to join the team. We are specifically seeking candidates who are looking to forge a career in Emergency Medicine. This post is aimed at candidates at ST2 level who have completed foundation training or equivalent along with at least one further year of experience in an acute general hospital setting, 6 months of which is in an NHS clinical post.
We are offering the opportunity to develop and hone your clinical skills in a busy Emergency Department that sees over 80,000 patients per year with guidance from the senior consultant and associate specialist team. You will join the junior training grade doctor's rota that will involve working nights, days and weekends - full details of the rota are available upon request. The department will consider requests for working less than full time, with a pro-rata rota covering nights and weekends.

Main duties of the job
Your role will be dedicated to the assessment, treatment and transfer/discharge of patients attending the Emergency Department. You will be supported by 24-hour middle grade cover. There is shop floor consultant cover from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight Monday to Sunday. Non-resident Consultant on-call cover is provided for the remainder of the time. You will be accountable to the Consultants in Emergency Medicine.

This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
