Principal Psychologist (Neurorehabilitation) - South Wales
Salary: £62,215 - £72,293 per annum (DOE, pro rata)
Hours: 14 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Principal Psychologist to join a leading neurorehabilitation service in South Wales. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with acquired brain injuries, supporting them through innovative and evidence-based neuropsychological rehabilitation.
The Role:
The Principal Psychologist will lead and contribute to the development of high-quality, evidence-based neuropsychological practice in a rehabilitation service for individuals with cognitive, physical, and emotional challenges following severe brain injury. This service uses a neurobehavioral approach to support service users in regaining independence and improving quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of neuropsychological rehabilitation.
2. Conducting specialist psychological assessments and formulating treatment plans for mental health and adjustment difficulties.
3. Providing expert advice on therapeutic interventions and risk management.
4. Supporting service management and ensuring the quality of clinical services.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
2. Significant experience in neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation.
3. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle complex, sensitive issues.
4. Experience in psychometric testing and clinical research.
5. The ability to lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
