Position Overview
The Head of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of projects, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring high performance and professional development.
2. Project Oversight: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of a wide range of decarbonisation initiatives.
3. Innovation: Drive innovation in product development, focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
4. Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, and customer service, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
6. Budget Management: Manage the engineering budget, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
7. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, solving complex problems and making critical decisions.
8. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, suppliers, and industry bodies to stay abreast of market trends and technological advancements.
Key Tasks
1. Engineering Team management and development.
2. Peer review of RIBA stage 1-5 design process.
3. Managing the surveying process on projects, collecting relevant information and formulating templates.
4. Production of feasibility studies looking at a range of renewable energy technologies and application.
5. Supporting business development in work winning activities.
6. Production of client and sub-contractor specifications.
7. Providing target cost plans for operational procurement.
8. Ownership of BIM Policy, Training Plan and production of BIM Execution plans.
9. Management and production of M&E designs utilising CAD and Revit.
10. Analysis of contractor's system designs prior to commencement of works.
11. Assisting during client meetings on technical aspects of project.
12. Advising and supporting with technical issues post installation.
13. Management of acceptance testing & analysis of system performance post completion.
14. Represent our client at industry events, identify business development opportunities and new industry standards.
15. Development of professional associates / consultant and new product offerings.
16. To ensure understanding of the our clients quality and environmental management systems and to work according to their requirements.
17. To be aware of the environmental aspects and impacts relevant to the work of the job holder as well as ensuring compliance with any environmental legislation that is applicable to the job.

Qualifications, Certification and Licences
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a technical related field.
2. Demonstrable Experience.

Travel Requirements
The role will be based in our Northeast Offices, with opportunity for flexible and hybrid working. Travel will be required on a regular basis to other operating locations as specified by the Company.
