Role Responsibilities
As a senior member of the construction team, the role will set and promote the required leadership standards through empathy, conviction, and clarity. Be an ambassador for best practice where curiosity and self-awareness form the baseline for success, enhancing collaboration through serving our internal stakeholders and creating a productive and effective environment.
Serving their internal and external customers against a backdrop of ownership and accountability, the execution of the role will be underpinned by promotion of both physical and psychological safety acting as a positive role model as part of an inclusive culture with a givers mindset.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
1. A robust and comprehensive understanding of people leadership with demonstrable execution.
2. Champion process adherence and improvement through collaboration and engagement with stakeholders.
3. Build and promote an inclusive culture targeting growth and industry-leading mindsets.
4. Demonstrably improve leadership standards to enhance the teams brand.
5. Responsible for liaison and interface management with clients and stakeholders.
6. Focal point for driving right first-time installations and client acceptance through driving gateway achievement and project milestones.
7. Desire to grow and develop through self-awareness and appetite to actively seek feedback.
8. Control of planned vs. actual progress and gauging the merits of initiatives to mitigate slippage and deviation.
9. Support the Construction Group Leader/s with initiatives, positively influencing others within both the site team and stakeholders.
10. Underpinned by self-awareness, embody a continuous growth mindset through remaining curious and actively developing skills against a backdrop of continuous improvement.
11. Capable of exercising a dynamic approach which requires adaptability to style and execution tactics to build leadership standards.
12. Maintaining a givers mindset building against a structured and deliberate approach.
13. Leader in safety & quality, setting the standard both in and out of the project environment.
14. Demonstrable ability to communicate with all levels of a team positively achieving the right outcome.
15. Lead with empathy whilst possessing the ability to be assertive through guidance and coaching to achieve optimal output from others collectively and individually.
16. Ability to balance competing priorities whilst maintaining a safe environment and meeting deadlines in a pressured, time-critical delivery.
Qualification and Skills
1. 5-10 years in a leadership role primarily focused on people management.
2. Understanding of people leadership principles and demonstrable people development skills.
3. 5+ years experience in successfully managing large teams during delivery of large and complex projects in a demanding environment with proven results.
4. Awareness and solid understanding of CDM Regulations and HASWA.
5. Proven Safety record through stewardship within time-critical and pressurized working environments.
6. Possess the ability to champion Vanderlandes Stay Safe Culture and safe working ethos.
Preferred Qualifications
1. SMSTS Trained as a minimum.
2. NVQ Level 5 in Strategic Management & Leadership or equivalent.
3. NEBOSH General Certificate or higher.
4. CSCS Black Management Card.
5. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training or equivalent.
