Manufacturing Engineer

Role Introduction
In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and work to help bridge the gap between engineering and production, ensuring smooth processes from design to assembly. You’ll implement controls to convert engineering concepts into practical build processes, manage production documentation, and continuously improve manufacturing methods using LEAN practices. You’ll also provide technical support, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to automation projects across multiple facilities.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel - providing technical resolution to complex engineering/manufacturing related issues
* Support Factory Acceptance Testing at all levels of product life cycle
* Manage/create/control all production documentation including product build instructions and engineering design changes in a manufacturing environment
* Review and improve production processes using LEAN methodologies
* Define and track manufacturing activities in the factory, liaising constantly with our product design and procurement teams
* Identify the tools and fixtures required to manufacture and assemble products to the specifications and tolerances required
* Participate in design reviews to enhance product manufacturability
* Contribute and lead in the development of PFMEAs & Value Stream Mapping
* Participate in Product Quality improvements and NCR/CAR activities to improve product quality
* Produce method statements and risk assessments in line with H&S requirements
Candidate Requirements
* Degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Process Engineering
* 5+ years of experience in factory acceptance testing and the implementation/management of test processes
* 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and assembly of mechanical and/or electrical products from prototype to volume manufacturing
* Demonstrated experience creating and updating documentation procedures, method statements, and risk assessments
* Solid understanding of manufacturing management processes: BOM, ERP, resource and capacity planning
* Understanding of lean manufacturing and the implementation of improvement activities
* Ability to adhere to Health and Safety procedures
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
* Flexible and innovative approach to solving design and manufacturing issues during the assembly process
