Regional Quality Manager required for a Tier 1 contractor based in Berkshire. The company is one of the most successful privately owned profitable contractors in the country, and their Southern operations are based from their office near Reading, with a turnover in excess of 1 billion a year.
They target schemes between 20 and 90 million on frameworks and repeat business opportunities with long-term clients, and will also identify and target single stage regeneration and development schemes up to 150 million. Typical schemes include large schools, multi-phased education schemes, student accommodation, PRS developments, high-rise office and residential schemes, distribution hubs, and large multi-use retail and leisure developments.
The role is to provide quality and systems support to the business at bid, preconstruction, on-site delivery, and commissioning through to defects and warranty periods. You will be responsible for the company's quality plan and be involved in early stage works to ensure compliance with the legal obligations of the wider business, full compliance with any external manufacturer, and working with the supply chain to check and ensure compliance with their independent quality systems. You will be responsible for checking on-site quality with the delivery teams and sub-contractors and be expected to audit and maintain a register and reporting procedure for NCRs and the wider best practices. You will manage, update, and amend the regional plan and work to ensure compliance with the relevant ISO standards and other industry benchmarks. Additionally, you will investigate latent defects and other short and long-term compliance issues so the wider business can learn and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
The role would suit someone from a QA/Inspection background with a construction-related business or a construction professional such as a project or site manager looking to change career paths who has a forensic interest in quality and continuous improvement practices.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
