About the role
With the launch of its new 2030 Sustainability Vision, Brother is looking to recruit a European Environmental Compliance Specialist. In this exciting role, you will be monitoring a broad range of environmental related compliance topics, representing Brother externally in EU Industry Boards & trade associations to develop new business practices in sustainability, chemical compliance, the Circular Economy and Eco-Design. The role will work to support our customers, improving internal processes and external sharing of sustainability data supporting our “at your side” spirit.
A key focus of the role will be chemical compliance, supporting supply chain activities, collaborating with the commercial and product development teams, implementing EU Sustainability improvement initiatives to help deliver the corporate sustainability goals and drive growth in Circular business models. You will also further support the integration of the UN SDGs within the business and support the development of sustainability communications particularly around compliance requirements.
As part of the Environmental team in the UK you will be supporting Sustainability Managers across the European sales offices and be responsible for reviewing EU environmental regulatory compliance and coordinating actions with the Group Headquarters in Japan.

About you
* You will have an Environmental Science or related Degree and relevant professional qualifications with proven experience in Environmental Compliance.
* A knowledge of Chemical compliance such as REACH and RoHS as well as eco-design will also be beneficial.
* You will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a keen eye for detail and have a flexible attitude with an ability to work to tight deadlines.
