There has never been a more exciting time to join Russell’s Hall Hospital as part of our Ambulatory Emergency Care. First class staff are our best asset and recent investment is allowing us to expand our team and work alongside other specialties under SDEC (Same day emergency care).
This service operates from 07.00 until late with staggered 12-hour shift patterns, and the nursing and medical teams work closely to manage the safety and flow of a large number of patients with an aim to discharge home the same day where able.
Main duties of the job
As a band 6 sister/charge nurse, you would be responsible for taking referrals from primary care, West Midlands Ambulance teams, our Emergency Department, and Urgent Treatment Centre to ensure appropriate care can be delivered within an ambulatory environment. Patient assessment and treatment will be delivered to the highest standards, and you will develop excellent professional relationships with our referring partners to enhance the patient experience.
You will support the area, take on a link role, and supervise and assist students within the department.
You will be required to assist Matron and lead nurse in maintaining standards and quality across the area.

Dudley Group offers many opportunities for our staff to develop and grow within their roles through our Learning & OD department. These include topics such as communication, wellbeing, team development, cultural competency, and values, plus much more. For those in a Management/Leadership role, there are additional programmes to support you in developing the skills you need, including our Managers Essentials Programme and a Leadership Programme that all managers will attend as part of your Dudley Managers Induction.
