What you'll be doing: It is a busy time in the water sector as we embark on delivering our biggest capital delivery programme to date which will unlock growth and investment in our region, including two new reservoirs. As an Assistant Commercial Solicitor, you will be providing business focused, pragmatic commercial contract advice and assistance. You will be involved in a wide variety of matters including drafting and negotiating construction contracts (NEC3 /4), IT contracts, renewable / energy supply contracts, leasing agreements, general supply / purchase contracts, outsourcing agreements, consultancy agreements, NDAs, intellectual property / R&D agreements, financial guarantees and bonds etc. A key part of this role is to work collaboratively with our Integrated Supply Chain team. You will have the support of the wider commercial team who are experienced and have a firm understanding of Anglian Water and the regulatory environment in which it operates. A UK qualified solicitor or barrister with relevant experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements including construction contracts (particularly NEC4), and knowledge of regulated procurement rules would be advantageous Strong team player with the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of business colleagues with a firm emphasis on stakeholder engagement and management and delivering a first-class service Strong analytical skills and ability to absorb complex information quickly Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide practical and solution focused advice to business challenges Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; being able to communicate at all levels within the organisation and externally IT literate and confident in using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint Full Driving Licence and access to vehicle Inclusion at Anglian Water: Join us and make a difference.
