The Opportunity
I’m working with a leading innovator in luxury housewares design, a rapidly expanding company in the EMEA region, to find a Systems Developer to join their team. Based at their office in Goring-on-Thames, this is an excellent opportunity to support the Senior Systems Developer while developing your career within a growing, technology-driven environment.
The role focuses on key areas such as database management, business intelligence, systems integration, and troubleshooting. If you're looking to build a career in systems development and support while contributing to the ongoing success of a high-performing team, this role could be perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Database Support: Assist in the maintenance and optimisation of SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and managing backups.
2. Business Intelligence & Reporting: Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support comprehensive business insights, collaborating with stakeholders to refine reporting requirements.
3. Systems Development & Integration: Support the integration of Sage 200 and other systems, and develop scripts/tools to automate processes.
4. Troubleshooting & Support: Provide system support, resolve issues promptly, and assist end-users with technical challenges.
5. Documentation & Process Improvement: Maintain detailed system documentation, develop best practices, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Key Skills & Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (graduates or juniors welcome).
2. 1-2 years of experience or relevant internships in systems development or database management.
3. Familiarity with SQL Server and basic query development.
4. Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence tools is a plus.
5. Basic understanding of ERP systems like Sage 200 is advantageous.
6. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
7. Problem-solving mindset with a strong eagerness to learn and grow.
8. 1st Line IT support with 2nd/3rd Line responsibilities.
9. Networking, routing, switching, API and EDI.
Technical Skills
1. Foundational knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, or similar programming languages.
2. Familiarity with data visualisation tools like Power BI.
3. Understanding of system integration and automation concepts.
